The Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia Baia Kvitsiani held a working meeting with Rene Rors, the Acting Director of the Office of the Peace Corps of Georgia to discuss cooperation. The meeting was held on June 14, 2025, Saturday.
It is also noteworthy that the main goal of the meeting was to foster and strengthen their relationship and to implement new initiatives for the betterment of the country.

During the meeting, Baia Kvitsiani expressed his warm gratitude towards Rene Rohr and thanked him for the important programs that the Peace Corps has been implementing in Georgia for many years. According to the Deputy Minister, Peace Corps representatives have contributed greatly to English language teaching and youth empowerment in Georgia, especially in the regions.
According to the details provided by the Georgian Education Ministry, it should be noted that Baia Kvitsiani emphasized that the development of English language competencies is the top priority of the national education strategy and to this end, the strategy for English language teaching 2022-2030 has been developed in cooperation with the British Council for General Education of Georgia.
American Volunteers were highly appreciated
During the meeting, the parties also focused special attention on the importance of the arrival of American volunteers, reaffirming the Peace Corps’ unwavering readiness to support Georgia’s education and community development.
At the end of the meeting, Rene Rors, Acting Director of the Office of Georgia, announced his readiness for close and fruitful cooperation with Baia Kvitsiani. The Minister also noted that he would be pleased to be visited by representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth at the ceremony of Peace Corps Volunteers Group 22.
