Tbilisi: The Bank of Georgia supported competition “Spotlight Tech 2024,” which was held from June 1 to 2, 2024 in Tbilisi, Georgia’s capital.
Many people interested in the technology industry attended the event. On the sidelines of the event the Bank of Georgia as the event presenter hosted an ideation session for the guests.
During the competition the attendees has the opportunity to work for 24 hours on the ideas of new functionality as well as products of the Bank of Georgia. The new services and products of banks include Mobile Bank, which will also serve the customer’s banking and nonbanking needs.
Almost 150 teams participated in the bank’s ideation. The jury selected 5 teams, which presented their ideas to attendees. The last three teams were selected, and they received 3000 GEL from the Bank of Georgia.

Common piggy bank – Ana Chkheidze, Dea Kartvelishvili and Gigi Giorgadze
Investment platform for financing startups – Ana Toradze and Anastasia Gvasalia
QR CODE transaction – Giorgi Sulkhanishvili and Giorgi Kurtanidze
Luka Kobalia, the leader of the Bank of Georgia’s mobile and internet banking team, spoke on the occasion and stated that ” we are delighted to get opportunity to support Spotlight Tech competition. We are always taking care of the development of technology as the main priority of the Bank of Georgia.”
He further added, “We are glad to participate in this prominent event for the industry. The Bank’s main objective is to create and expand spaces in technology. Here the experts from the field of technology can share their ideas and learn new things. Moreover we discussed many practical ideas at the ideation event and hopefully in the next Spotlight we will offer many more interesting activities.”
Spotlight Tech is being organized every year since 2018, and this year’s event Spotlight Tech 2024 was held under the theme “lessons.”
