Georgia: The Batumi City Council’s regular meeting was held on August 9, 2024, during which the issues provided for the agenda were discussed.
Changes in Batumi’s budget for 2024 have been approved. According to the budget, it increased by 3 million GEL and reached 460 million GEL.
The increased budget will finance new infrastructure projects. An additional 1,000 families are expected to join the new water supply network, which will provide a 24-hour uninterrupted water supply to families living in the connected areas.
The decision was made on May 26. At the beginning of registration and repair funds for the owners of the real estate in the accidental house in #13 in the new building built at the same location, the flats will be transferred to the old building according to the spaces available to the owners.
The mayor of Batumi consented to transferring property rights to two families with many children in the municipality. Batumi City Hall implements a program to help families with many children. The program is intended for families registered in Batumi with six or more children. The program also includes cash payment for apartment repair works, which has increased and will amount to 450 GEL per square meter instead of 250 GEL.
The current rule for registering homelessness on the municipality’s territory has been changed. The change aims to streamline enrollment criteria, allowing more people or families in need to enroll in the program.
The change was also included in establishing the City Council to approve the rules for the care and management of dogs and cats and their populations in Batumi, which determines the issues related to the registration of slaughtered animals and the production of a database.
The City Council approved the draft of privatization facilities owned by the municipality and changes to the privatization plan. Specifically, 3 objects were added to the privatization of real estate properties owned by Batumi Municipality and the privatization plan of real estate.
The rule allowing the use of the permit certificate for placing outside advertisements on real estate located in Batumi Municipality has been approved.
By the decision of the Sakrebulo, Adjara Autonomous Republic, the property owned by Batumi Municipality was transferred to the property in the form of flats, then to be handed over to the citizens living in the mentioned areas by the right of property.
The change was made in the City Council’s “approval of the specific jurisdiction zoning map of Batumi municipality (part of the zoning of the plan for regulating the development)” on April 30, 2020.
