Batumi, Georgia: Batumi City Hall has issued a statement on the progress of various infrastructure development projects in the city, which aim to improve the urban environment, public services, and tourism potential of the capital of the Ajara region.
According to the statement, the following works have been completed or are underway:
- The demolition of side walls on Khakhuli and Varshanidze streets as part of the project to rehabilitate the river dam and create a recreational area. The project also includes arranging 13 bridges on both sides of the river.
- The reinforcement works of the 4th municipal kindergarten will ensure the safety and comfort of the children and staff.
- Building bridges on Bakhtadze and Shanidze streets will improve the traffic flow and connectivity in the city.
- The roof reconstruction of the residential house located in Odzelashvili City #6 will enhance the living conditions of the residents.
- The installation of elevators in Agmashenebeli City #10 and #28 and Khimshiashvili City #27 will facilitate the mobility and accessibility of the residents.
- The rehabilitation of kindergarten chairs in Rustaveli City #10, Abuseridze City #9, Khimshiashvili City #23, Javakhishvili Street #69, and Firosman Street #9, which will provide a better learning environment for the children.
- The arrangement of Batumi fountains will beautify the city and attract more visitors. The washing and cleaning of the fountains in the square on Gorgiladze Street have been ongoing since morning.
- The cleaning of drainage wells and drainages on Rustaveli, Ninoshvili, Lermontov, Takaishvili, Khimshiashvili, Kobaladze, Loria, Abuseridze, Shartava, Odzelashvili, Katamadze, Noneshvili and Andronikashvili streets, which will prevent flooding and improve the sanitation of the city.
- Cleaning canals near the Gonio coastline will protect the environment and water quality.
- Planting about ten evergreen trees on Nobelebi Street will increase the city’s greenery and air quality.
Batumi City Hall stated that these projects are part of its vision to make Batumi a modern, attractive, and resilient city and enhance the well-being of its citizens and visitors. The statement also thanked the public for their cooperation and understanding during the implementation of the projects.
