Batumi hosted the III International Conference of Teachers of Vocational Education – “Professional Education in Modern Economic and Technological Changes.” The conference was held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026.
Georgian Minister of Education, Science and Youth Givi Mikanadze addressed the participants of the event and talked about the importance of supporting teachers of vocational education.
Givi Mikanadze noted, “Funding for vocational education is increasing every year, the infrastructure and material-technical base of colleges are developing, and modern approaches to teaching and digital technologies are being implemented.” “However, the main foundation of a strong vocational education system is qualified and professional teachers,” he added.
According to him, they are actively working to support and create new opportunities for vocational education teachers. The special focus is on sharing practical experience, gaining international experience, and strengthening partnerships.
To this end, they offer vocational education teachers a variety of projects, including a program of participation in international study visits, where they have the opportunity to gain practical knowledge, discover experiences from other countries, and learn modern teaching approaches. They will also share their knowledge and experience with their colleagues and professional students.
The Conference is one of the most important platforms that provide opportunities for foreign experts to share knowledge, experience, and best practices. “In addition, the conference promotes the creation of new professional connections and strengthens cooperation, which will have a positive impact on the activities and professional development of our teachers,” said Givi Mikanadze.
