Batumi: M.Iashvili Batumi Maternal and Child Central Hospital became the first internationally accredited pediatric medical center in Western Georgia. This hospital is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art infrastructure.
Nino Nizharadze, the Minister of Health and Social Protection of Adjara visited the hospital today to assess the facilities being provided. She was accompanied by the first deputy, Mari Zanakidze, and official guests.
They all got acquainted with the basic systemic changes implemented in the medical facility and the updated medical infrastructure. Notably the highest status of clinical quality and patient safety was awarded to the hospital as a result of several months of work with the American Accreditation Commission International (AACI).
AACI (American Accreditation Commission International) is an accredited member of the International Association for Health Care Quality and Evaluation (ISQua), which develops international standards for the development of health services worldwide. This association also accredited leading medical centers in America, Europe, and Asia.
It is worth mentioning that the Batumi Iashvili Hospital with American international accreditation has become the multi-profile center in the Adjara region, where outpatient and inpatient services for mothers and children are available. The hospital operates a perinatal center of the second-third level, which includes an obstetric-gynecological service and provides a full range of intensive care for newborns. The hospital provides a 24-hour pediatric emergency service to the region’s population.
The hospital’s staff and management welcomed the minister for her esteemed presence. On occasion a dedicated presentation was given about the facilities being provided in the hospital for the people present. Minister interacted productively with staff members and learned about their challenges and other necessary requirements. She assured that the ministry is planning to improve the health infrastructure and that more funds will be diverted for this purpose as well.
Further the Minister visited and inspected the different wards of the hospital. She received information about the latest digital methods for better patient treatment.
