The construction of a new public square on Markoz Achareli Street is nearing completion. The Mayor of Batumi, Giorgi Tsintsadze, inspected infrastructure projects across the city.
The Batumi City Hall shared glimpses of the mayor’s visit on its official Facebook Page on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. The City Hall also shared a small note about the inspection work along with the highlights.
The project includes the creation of a sports field, as well as areas for children and general recreation; a modern outdoor lighting system will also be installed. Asphalt paving will be laid in the area surrounding the square, and full landscaping will be carried out once the work is finished.
Construction of an embankment wall is actively underway between 60 Tbeti Street and Queen Tamar Avenue. The project entails building an 840-meter-long wall along the Yorolistskali River; foundation and concrete pouring works are currently in progress.
The Mayor of Batumi also visited the site at 31–39 Tabidze Street, where the rehabilitation of a public square is nearing completion. The existing square has been fully refurbished, featuring a new drainage system, an expanded and upgraded sports field, new playground equipment, exercise facilities, and a designated recreation area.
During the inspection, the Mayor met with residents to discuss the district’s needs and hear their views and suggestions.
So far in 2026, the construction and rehabilitation of 10 squares in Batumi have been completed. Work is currently underway at four locations, with a total of 18 projects planned for the year.
Joining Giorgi Tsintsadze to review the rehabilitation works were Ivane Maisuradze (Chairman of the Batumi City Council), Nukri Dekanadze (Deputy Mayor of Batumi), and other City Council members.
