The rehabilitation of Muskhelishvili Street under the Batumi Municipality is actively continuing. After the street’s successful rehabilitation many new facilities will be added.
As per the information shared by the local municipal authorities new signs indicating the direction of tourist facilities are being placed throughout the city. This will help travelers visiting the city for the first time. Similarly damaged pavement, pavement tiles were restored in Rustaveli, Sergi Meskhi, Agmashenebeli, Memed Abashidze, Tsereteli, Abashidze, Mazniashvili, Melashvili, Ninoshvili, Kldiashvili, and Chavchavadze streets as well.
At the same time in Chavchavadze Street in 90 the damaged roof was replaced with a new one, whereas in Gorgiladze Street in 54/62, the complete rehabilitation of the sports field is underway as per the information shared by the municipal authorities during the construction.
It is also worth noting that as environment protection is always the municipality’s first priority the greening of the streets of old Batumi continues. Trees and plants were planted on Mazniashvili Street as well so that the city’s green cover can be preserved with minimum harm to nature.
At the same time the rehabilitation of the drainage network is underway in Makhinjauri on Kontselidze Street along with the cleaning works of drainage wells and grates which are being carried out in Beridze, Tsereteli, Javakhishvili, Sh. Khimshiashvili, Luka Asatiani, Vazha-Pshavela, Komakhidze, Kaikatsishvili, Noghaideli, S. on Khimshiashvili, Guramishvili and Baratashvili streets.
Drainage channels leading to the sea were also cleaned in the Gonio area under the rehabilitation initiative. Similarly the fountains and monumental monuments are washed twice a week. Coastal cleaning works are carried out daily. The local administration has engaged heavy earth-moving machinery to complete the work early in all directions of the municipality as well.
Some workers were placing the furniture for the seating arrangement whereas the others were digging the soil for the tree plantation as well. On the other hand the municipality’s administration is also discussing active construction work in other areas of the locality.
