The construction of the charity and educational center “Bethlehem” begins in Batumi. The Prime Minister of Georgia – Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairmen of the Adjara High Council and Government – Tsotne Ananidze and Zurab Pataradze, and representatives of executive and legislative authorities attended the ceremony of laying the foundation stone.
The beginning of construction was blessed by the Metropolitan of Batumi and Lazeti, Bishop Dimitri. During his speech, he noted that the implementation of the project was the great wish of the Catholic Patriarch Ilia II of all of Georgia.
Charity and Educational Center in Batumi, on Giorgi Antsukhelidze Street, will be built on an area of 11,500 square meters. The project includes a 24-hour care service for 150 elderly. The complex will house a daycare center for 100 seniors, a preschool center, and an inclusive learning group for 150 educators.
In “Bethlehem,” the beneficiaries of the Savan named after St. Catherine will live. Savane has been functioning in
Batumi for 31 years. The construction works will be carried out by the company “Dome”. According to preliminary information, the project will be completed in about two years.
The event was attended by clergymen and representatives of business circles. Authorities in the village of Kvirike inspected the construction of the church-monastic complex named after
St. Kvirike and Ivlita.
St. Kvirike and Ivlita church-monastic complex under construction in the village of Kvirike includes 3 domed temples, a bell, dining room, and gymnasium. The gymnasium building will house an educational center for young people, where they will study computer science and other fields alongside traditional religious disciplines.
