In a very tragic incident twelve persons have lost life. They died because of poisoning by carbon dioxide in ski resort of Georgia at Gadauri.
The unfortunate incident happened in Gudauri Ski resort. The Gudauri ski resort of Georgia is largest ski resort of Georgia. The Georgian police while disclosing information in this regard said, “it is very sad and shocking to announce that twelve persons have lost lives in Gudauri ski resort. Police also confirmed that death was caused by Carbon Monoxide poisoning.”
The victim of tragedy includes one Georgian citizen also. The all other eleven who dead belonged to different foreign country. The dead bodies have been received by police. As per latest information available so far, their bodies were recovered by them from sleeping area, which was located above the restaurant.
This is region’s as well as country’s largest and old ski resort in Gudauri which was a state under former Soviet Union regime also. It is also worth to note that the police have ruled out possibility of any violence in its preliminary investigation. However further investigation to going on to know exact reason of death of victims.
The police officer while speaking further about incident said that “At this stage we have not found any evidence which suggest if deaths are result of any violent clash. However initial investigation indicates that the reason behind death is accidental poisoning of carbon monoxide by victims”.
The identities of Georgian citizens and foreigner have not yet revealed by police and other investigation agencies working to trace exact reasons. Meanwhile law enforcement has ordered investigation.
Gudauri is world known place for adventure sports. At the same time place is also a famous tourist destination for skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts. It also attracted people of all ages from across globe as well.
Gudauri is situated Mtskheta-Mtianeti region of Georgia and is 120 kilometre away from capital city , Tbilisi. The place is located at least 2200m (7,200ft) above sea level.
