Dr Ernest Hilaire congratulates winners of Gimies Tourism Awards 2024

The Minister of Tourism of Saint Lucia, Dr Ernest Hilaire, extended his huge congratulations to the winners of The Gimies Tourism Awards 2024. The awardees were honoured for their significant contributions to the tourism industry in 2023.

The 2nd edition of these prestigious awards took place on April 13 and witnessed deserving individuals receiving awards for their hard work. The Ministry of Tourism, under the leadership of Dr Hilaire, is the backbone of these awards.

As the Minister of Tourism attended the awards ceremony, he said that he felt a deep sense of pride in witnessing Saint Lucia’s best in the tourism sector get their well-deserved awards.

Dr Hilaire added that the awards which were handed out on Saturday night were mere tokens of appreciation as the real reward is the several satisfied guests who start to plan their return to the island nation before they actually leave.

On behalf of the entire Ministry of Tourism, Dr Ernest Hilaire expressed his gratitude to all the awardees for their unwavering efforts and said that he will see them again next year on the same stage.

Special Recognition Award – Kenneth Phillip
Land-Based Transportation Business of the Year – Hibiscus Tours
Independent Tour Guide of The Year – Father Nature Adventures
Peoples Choice Award – Father Nature Adventures
Special Recognition Award for Community Development – Gros Islet Vendors Association
Lifetime Achievement Award – Solar Tours and Travel Saint Lucia
Sites & Adventure Employee of the Year – Samantha Denys
Sites & Adventure Business of the Year – Soufriere Foundation
Community-Based Tourism Award – Soufriere Foundation

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Philip J Pierre, has also expressed his gratitude to Minister Ernest Hilaire for making the event a huge success. “To the Minister of Tourism Ernest Hilaire and staff, we celebrate your hard work. Thank you for your service,” noted the PM.

Following the success of this year’s event, everyone is now looking forward to the 3rd edition of the Saint Lucia Gimies Tourism Awards in 2025.
