Georgia: On Europe Day, May 11, from 11:00 to 20:00, Iliauni will hold cognitive-educational events in Expo Georgia’s 11th purple pavilion.

The Caucasian Life Barcoding (CaBOL) project, a significant endeavor coordinated by Iliauni and funded by the German Ministry of Education and Research, with the active participation of seven esteemed research institutions from Georgia, Armenia, and Germany, is now entering its crucial final phase this year.

The project aimed to genetically describe 50,000 species of animals and plants and create a genetic library of Caucasian diversity in 3 years.

Since its inception in 2020, the CaBOL project has made significant strides. Researchers have successfully isolated DNA from thousands of plants and animals, identified them at the species level, and compiled a comprehensive genetic library.

At the Ilia State University stand, representatives of the CaBOL project will guide you through a unique hands-on experience at the mini-laboratory. Here, you will delve into the fascinating world of invertebrates, test your skills, and gain a fundamental understanding of databases.

In addition to laboratory work, you will learn interesting facts about organisms that make up the majority of the Earth.

Europe Day has been celebrated by the Council of Europe since 1964. It celebrates peace, unity, democracy, the rule of law, human rights, and economic development across Europe. One of the main advantages of Eurointegration is raising the standard of education and bringing it closer to Western standards.

Europe Day

Europe Day is a day celebrating “peace and unity in Europe.” It is celebrated on May 5 by the Council of Europe and on May 9 by the European Union. The first recognition of Europe Day was by the Council of Europe, which was introduced in 1964.

The European Union later started to celebrate its own European Day in commemoration of the 1950 Schuman Declaration, which first proposed the European Coal and Steel Community, leading it to be referred to by some as “Schuman Day” or “Day of United Europe.” Both days are celebrated by displaying the Flag of Europe.
