Tornike Rizhvadze Chairman of the Adjara government of Georgia in a recent meeting summed up the achievements of the current year and talked about future plans for 2024 of the government. He also spoke about the importance of EU candidate status, emphasising social policy programs.
Tornike Rizhvadze started, ” For the first time, the combined budget of the Autonomous Republic has approached the billions mark. The republican budget amounted to 726 million Gel, which is five times higher than the 2012 budget. It was a successful year in many ways; it was an important year. Once again I would like to congratulate you that our country has become a candidate state for the European Union which is the result of the effective and correct work of all the governments”.
As per Tornike Rizhvadze In Adjara the program “Batumi without accidental houses” is actively underway – within which residential apartments are being built at ten addresses. As a result of the completed work, about 400 families will be given an apartment.
He also said, “The main task of our government the authorities, is to take care of people, it is not just in words it is expressed in supporting all the social projects that are important for the welfare of the people of Adjara, in order to provide them with a safe environment.” In this regard, I would like to note that together with the Batumi City Hall we are implementing an important government project
At the meeting of the Adjara government held today, the chairman of the Adjaria government Tornike Rizhvadze noted that fast recovery of tourism is the key factors determining economic growth.
“Compared to last year we have a 25% increase in tourist flows in Adjara so more than 4 million visits were made in the region and the number of tourist flows has increased four times in the last 11 years.” Also, sustainable tourism revenue allows us to budget efforts.
The number of tourist visits in the region has increased nearly four times compared to the data in 2012. And according to 9-month data it has increased by 25.3% compared to last year. The number of visits to mountainous Adjara tourist routes increased by 20%.
Speaking on education, Tornike Rizhvadze said the budget of the Adjara Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports is 14,9 million. It increased by Lari and 132 million. Lari has made it.
Construction of new educational spaces will be carried out student and teacher support programs will continue. The budget for improving the infrastructure of educational institutions will be 37 million GEL within the framework of which the construction-rehabilitation of 95 public schools will be carried out.
At the same time the funding for the Ministry of Agriculture has increased. Subsidies on non-standard citrus products have been doubled. The support of agro farms and agro-business in municipalities will continue.
