CIU Multimedia Center hosts two-day workshop on November 19-20

Georgia: A two-day workshop – “Broadcast Media: Tele-Radio Reporting” – was held in the CIU Multimedia Center for pupils of the Iveria Icon Multimedia Center on November 19-20, 2024.

On the first day, the pupils visited the material-technical base of the Multimedia Center. They were addressed by the Deputy Head of CIU Multimedia Center, Associate Professor Sulkhan Meladze, who talked to the students about the challenges of modern media.

Sulkhan Meladze is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Social Sciences at CIU and is also the producer of the Multimedia Centre.

The workshop continued with an introduction to audio media, led by radio presenter, CIU Multimedia Center correspondent, and invited lecturer, Soso Gazdeliani. Students recorded voices in the radio studio and worked them for audio platforms.

The second day of the training was dedicated to another medium of broadcasting media, television, which was led by CIU Multimedia Center producer Lika Zambakhidze. He introduced the specifics of working with the camera to his students. Participants of the workshop were allowed to try their hand in TV media.

Head of CIU Multimedia Center, Advisor to the Chancellor of the Caucasus International University, Professor Nino Chalaganidze met with the students and school administration. He spoke about the importance of journalism and the modern media environment.

At the end of the two-day workshop, the head of CIU Multimedia Center awarded the students with certificates. Professor Sulkhan Meladze handed over educational-scientific projects prepared by CIU Multimedia Center – “Life of Kartli with Mariam Lortkipanidze” and “From Kavli to Mtatsminda on the motives of Guram Sharadze” – to the representatives of the school.

The workshop was coordinated by CIU Multimedia Center correspondent, Etiko Shakulashvili.

The event aimed to provide high school graduates with the skills they need to work in broadcast media and to introduce them to the challenges facing the modern media space.
