Tbilisi: The Caucasus International University is all set to host the public meeting on May 13. The meeting will be held on the topic of “sustainable development and waste management.”
The acting head of the education projects services of Environmental Information and Education Centre Nino Tabatadze will address the participants on this special occasion. The Meeting will be held in the Auditorium number 405 at 13:00 PM. The event is being organized by the faculty of business and technology.
The main issues that will be addressed during the event will include the concept of sustainable development, dangers to biodiversity, sustainable use and production of natural resources waste management challenges and perspective, saving resources, etc. The Facebook page of the university also carries this information on the scheduled meetings. The sustainable management issue has become the need of the hour due to global warming and climate change etc.
It is to be specifically mentioned that with the exploitation of natural resources, the burden on them has become very heavy. The efforts at the international level in this direction are being stressed by all the environmentalists and other experts associated with the issue of climate change as well.
At the international level many organizations have been working round the clock to make collective efforts to reduce the burden on natural resources. At the same time, proper waste management is the biggest issue. Due to a lack of proper waste management natural sources are getting polluted every year.
Air pollution, water pollution, and soil pollution are the biggest examples caused by the low level of waste management. Waste management is also the biggest cause of water pollution. The water bodies of even freshwater are being polluted with the disposal of untreated wastes.
The key speaker will also apprise the participants about the various measures that need to be implemented to achieve sustainable development-related goals.
