Georgia: With the strong support and backing of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Produce in Georgia, the International Chamber of Commerce held educational meetings for women entrepreneurs on international trade on June 26 and 28, 2024, in Tbilisi and Batumi.
ADB’s Trade & Supply Chain Funding Program presents a unique opportunity to equip local women entrepreneurs with the practical knowledge and skills required to navigate and succeed confidently in the international trade arena.
ADB’s Trade and Supply Chain Funding Programme has been delivering training since 2022 as part of its Gender and Inclusion Strategy to enable women entrepreneurs to venture into international markets, gain access to finance, and increase their risk portfolio by engaging in global trade.
ADB’s Trade and Supply Chain Finance Program (TSCFP) sponsored two workshops in Tbilisi and Batumi on 26 28 June to support women entrepreneurs in Georgia in developing trade finance expertise.
The practical workshops, which brought together about 200 women selected through a rigorous application process, were based on case studies and real-life examples to provide the tools and knowledge necessary to navigate and succeed in the global trade arena.
It was organized by the International Chamber of Commerce of Georgia (ICC Georgia) and supported by the government agency Enterprise Georgia.
The workshops, held since 2022, have been a successful part of the TSCFP gender and inclusion strategy, addressing the increased challenges that women entrepreneurs face to enter international markets, to access liquidity and having an increased risk profile for undertaking international trade business.
