Martville Municipality, Georgia: In the villages of Martville municipality, a common meetings with the public has begun recently. The meetings are being conducted under the village support program to discuss future development plans.
The City Hall of Martville Municipality also shared glimpses of the meetings which were being held in the Martville Municipality on its official Facebook page on February 10, 2025, Monday. The City Hall also shared a small note along with the photographs.
The official Facebook page of the municipality stated that “Settlements have begun holding common meetings and consulting with voters to select projects funded by the “Village Support Program” settlements in Martville Municipality.”
It is noteworthy that, on February 10, common meetings were held in the administrative units of Sergieti, Nakhunao, Abedati, Onogia, and Bandza.
Participants of the meeting were:
- Mayor of Martville Municipality, Tornike Janashia,
- Deputy Chairman of the City Council, Koba Darjania,
- Other local government employees.
In 2025, in Martville municipality, within the framework of the “Village Support Program,” 990 000 GEL will be allocated from the fund of projects implemented in the regions of Georgia.
Notably, each village received money for the implementation of the infrastructure project according to the number of population. Local residents will decide with a majority of votes how the money allocated for housing will be used.
According to the information shared by the City Hall, it should be noted that consultative meetings will be held from February 10 to February 14 in all villages of the municipality, and selected projects will be submitted to the City Council for approval. The project is being implemented with the funding of the central government.
Large number of people gathered on this occasion to shared their views with office bearers of the municipality. They expressed their gratitude towards representatives of the municipality for this wonderful opportunity as well. Moreover the local residents said, such kind of initiatives must be held regularly, and opportunities must be granted to residents to have greater participation as well.
Mayor Tornike Janashia said that views and suggestion shared by public will be taken into account so that maximum persons can avail benefits under the proposed project of village support program. Moreover, he also assures to take steps to maximize public participation in the decision-making of the Government as well.
