As per the information shared by the Borjomi administration, the readers club of the N1 public school of Borjomi “Karcher Lux”, whose head is Lia Gulikashvili, a teacher of Georgian language and literature at the same school, organised a school conference for students. This was a general conference on the topic of Empathy.
It is to be specifically mentioned that It was dedicated to issue of Empathy, as well as to the presentation of the works of the winners of various projects. Notably, the event was attended by Maka Manjavidze, Chairman of the Legal Issues Commission of Borjomi Municipality and Head of Educational Resource Center Izolda Lomidze.
Key speakers of the confernce also said that Conferences like these are important, not only for motivating students, but also for generating, encouraging, and sharing new knowledge and ideas!
It is worth mentioning that the speaker of the conference stated that Empathy is the ability to understand the feelings of others and share them. It involves not only recognising the emotions someone else is experiencing but also being able to experience those emotions as a personal one vicariously.
It should be noted that Empathy goes beyond sympathy as well, which means it is a feeling of compassion or sorrow for someone’s situation without necessarily understanding their emotions.

Compassionate Empathy falls in the third category, it invlove the combination of Empathy with a desire to help or alleviate someone’s suffering. It often leads to compassionate actions.
