In Georgia, the health authorities have stated that in the past 24 hours, the country has reported 20,326 daily new cases of Covid-19 with 48,468 recoveries and 57 deaths. The daily positivity rate in the nation stands at 30.88 per cent.
Overall, there are still 196,192 active cases of Coronavirus all over the country.
As per the figures, a total of 65,829 tests were conducted all over the country in the past 24 hours. Among 65,829 tests that were conducted throughout the country, 40,367 were rapid antigen tests, while the remaining 25,462 were PCR tests.
Moreover, since February 26, 2020, the country has registered a total of 1,438,353 cases of Covid-19.
The new 20,326 cases of coronavirus are registered in various parts of the country. Tbilisi – 9,535 cases, Adjara – 1,488, Imereti – 3,269, Kvemo Kartli – 1,145, Shida Kartli – 1,079, Guria – 572 cases, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti – 1,337, Kakheti – 1,127 cases, Mtskheta-Mtianeti – 370, Samtskhe-Javakheti – 307, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 97.
According to the reports, a total of 6,100 are undergoing treatment in hospitals, while 188,334 individuals are undergoing treatment at home by isolating themselves and by contacting their family doctors.
So far, the country has registered an overall 1,913 cases of Omicron variant since February 09, 2020.
Moreover, 1,261 individuals are still in a severe condition, out of which 278 are on artificial ventilation.
The proportion of people fully vaccinated in Georgia is low as compared to many other countries. As of today, around 33.2% of the population of Georgia is fully vaccinated against the Coronavirus, which accounts for 12.3L people and around 28.5L doses have been administered.
However, the health authorities in Georgia have also reduced the self-isolation and quarantine periods to five days for patients employed in some specific government fields.
