Georgia: In 2023, with the financial support of the UN, the Strategic Research and Development Center of Georgia (CSRDG) financed seven important projects of community organizations and initiative groups in the regions.
One was Project Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Center New “Kera,” which was implemented by the Community Union “Vardisubani.” The same new building, Ideatheka, was created for women and young people of the Vardisubani community. It is technically equipped as a learning space for IT technologies.
Another is the project “Future Vision Cinema” implemented by the Center for Women and Youth in Khornabuji, “Khornabuji-Tamar Castle.”
The Khornabuji community, nearby villages, and municipalities had no recreational or educational space. On the initiative of a community organization, such a meeting place was created with the necessary equipment and inventory in the local museum premises.
For residents, this space serves as a culture house, cinema, socialization, and educational space, where people of different generations, interests, and professions gather, hold seminars, watch films, and share new ideas and initiatives.
Among them, the Municipality of Dedopelistskharo and the Ministry of Environment used the purchased infrastructure for various activities.
About 200 people involved in the project were the direct beneficiaries. The total budget of the project amounted to 13 880 GEL, from which the grant funding of 8 780 GEL was allocated by the support of the United Nations Joint Program “Promoting Gender Equality in Georgia,” within the framework of the project “Women Empowerment for Change” by the Center for Strategic Research and Development of Georgia (CSRDG).
They are doing the Georgian thing. The law on “Foreign Influence Transparency” and the requirement to register as a “foreign power interest organization” will make our activities impossible and hinder the support of thousands of citizens. This law threatens cooperation with the country’s strategic partners and Georgia’s membership in the European Union.
