A dedicated lecture on cyber security was held recently at the Caucasus University. The students of the 26th public school of the Tbilisi participated in it. The thirty-five students of the school participated in the lecture and got information on cyber security and its various aspects.
The information about the lecture was also shared by the Caucasus University on their official Facebook page. The Facebook post includes “In CU a lecture was held for the students of 26th public school of Tbilisi, the main topic was cyber security. The meeting was addressed by the Associate Professor of the Caucasus University and Deputy Director of the Center for Cybersecurity Giorgi Iashvili. 35 students were participating in the lecture”.
It is well known fact that with the advancement of technology especially information technology the issue of cyber security gains the central stage for technocrats across the globe as well. The lecture hall was full of school students who listened to the views of the speakers eagerly. There was a presentation to give in-depth details on overall aspects of cyberspace and security as well.
Giorgi Iashvili advised the student to use social media with much caution. According to Giorgi Iashvili cybercriminals are difficult to detain as they commit transnational crimes. The participating students also asked many questions about the topic of the lecture. Their main concern was how to stay safe on the internet.
Issues like sextortion, stalking, bullying, and blackmailing are also mentioned in the lecture. While talking about the problems Giorgi Iashvili said every country needs to make united efforts in collaboration with other countries and international law enforcement organizations.
It is worth mentioning that the University frequently held seminars, lectures, and workshops on several topics. This lecture was also part of the series of events organized by the university administration. In the last school students expressed their gratitude towards the key speaker for providing them with the latest information on cyber security.
