Culture Ministry announces competition to promote free projects in culture sector

Georgia: The Georgian Ministry of Culture and Sports announces competition – “Promotion of free projects in the sector of culture”. The competition will be announced in several stages during the year and its total budget is 700 000 GEL. 

In the first stage, the competition budget will be 300 000 GEL. The competition aims to create conditions for the presentation and development of free creative and scientific potential, to promote the diversity of cultural self-expression, to promote the implementation of new ideas, and to revitalize cultural life in the country.

The competition includes the following disciplines: fine and applied arts, music, animation, photography, media art, film, literature/literature, and non-formal education.

The Ministry of Culture announced the competition in 2021. In 2021 the budget of the competition was 920 000 GEL. 42 projects were financed out of 172 tender applications.

In 2022, the budget of the competition was 660 422 GEL. Out of 228 tender applications, 30 projects were financed.

In 2023 48 projects were financed out of 155 competition applications with 821 554 GEL allocated for the competition.

Legal entities, individuals, and individual entrepreneurs registered in Georgia have the right to participate in the competition. Each contestant can submit only one project. The preference may be given to a project, which is not funded by any other sub-programme of the “Culture Promotion Program“.
