Georgia: David Nozadze led a working meeting in the administration of the State Trustee. The First Deputy of the State Trustee, the Mayor of Mtskheti Municipality, and the Deputy Mayors of Akhalgori, Eredvi, and Kurdish Municipalities attended.
The parties discussed the consequences of the incident in the Tserovani refugee settlement, the implementation of the settlement, and the liquidation measures to be carried out.
As mentioned in the meeting, a preliminary calculation of damage caused by the elements is being carried out, and the appropriate acts are being prepared. The local government is in intensive communication with the affected families, who will be provided with temporary housing and food if needed.
At the same time, with the involvement of relevant services of Mtskheta and Akhalgori municipalities, the liquidation of the natural disaster’s results continues. Heavy rainfall damaged residential houses, yards, rivers, and valley gulfs, and all other necessary measures are being taken to clean them.
David Nozadze thanked the meeting participants for their coordinated and operational work and noted that, at this stage, the priority is to help the population.
“Supporting citizens affected by the stick is the most important thing. It is necessary to calculate the damage to take further action steps. It’s important as well. Solve quickly all the problems caused by heavy rainfall to the infrastructure. All relevant authorities are involved in the process. “We will continue to work intensively with them so that proper measures can be taken on time,” David Nozadze noted.
Nodadze also stated,” We remind you that the heavy rain that came on May 25-26 caused significant damage to Tserovani refugee settlement. Internal roads, residential houses, and agricultural fields were flooded. To solve the problem, all relevant agencies were working on the site with technical and human resources. Southern administration and self-government representatives had active communication with the population regarding the needs created. Nika Tkemaladze, the head of the Department of Relations with Regions of the Government Administration, and his deputy Giorgi Makarashvili were present in the element zone, together with the State Commissioner of the Party, were present.”
Heavy rain also damaged Tianeti and Dusheti, and the state will hold meetings with mayors of municipalities in the southern administration the next day.
