The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, David Songulashvili, introduced the new head of the National Forestry Agency, Besik Amiranashvili, to the staff of the agency.
The
National Forestry Agency of Georgia shared the glimpses of the introductory meeting on its official Facebook Page on February 2, 2026, Monday. The Agency also shared a small note about the meeting along with its glimpses.
The minister wished
Besik Amiranashvili success in the implementation of the important projects that are planned within the framework of forest reform.
David Songulashvili noted, “Given professionalism and experience, including working with regions, we have stopped choosing Besik Amiranashvili, who is ready to lead the implementation of the important reform that we have planned.”
“The more the field develops, the more we will protect and take care of the forest; the more effective use of the resource, which is the wealth of our country; at the same time, we will promote the development of the agency. It will be noted that within the framework of the reform, the salaries of forest guards doubled since January this year, which undoubtedly increases the motivation of employees,” said David Songulashvili, Minister of Environment and Agriculture.
The Minister thanked
Kakha Tsertsvadze, former head of the Forest Agency, for his work and contribution to the development of the field.
Besik Amiranashvili is a lawyer by profession. He has many years of experience in public service, including as the State Envoy of Samtshe-Javakheti; until now, Besik Amiranashvili was the Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture.
Besik Amiranashvili thanked the minister for his confidence and expressed his willingness to lead the reform process in the forest sector.
