Tbilisi: Davit Songulashvili , the minister of environment and agriculture meets Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia. Ashot Smbatyan is currently working as the Ambassador of Armenia to Georgia.
The glimpses of this important meeting were also shared on the official social media handles of ministry of environment protection and agriculture. As per the information shared by ministry, “At the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of existing cooperation between Georgia and Armenia and discussed future opportunities, including the prospects for deepening trade and economic relations.”
At the same time this conversation touched on the issues of sustainable management of water resources, winemaking, agrotourism and aquaculture. They also shared the importance of cooperation and sharing experience among both countries also.
The Armenian Ambassador congratulated Davit Songulashvili on his appointment as Minister and wished him success in his future activities. According to Ashot Smbatyan, Georgia is a friendly country of Armenia and accordingly there is a constant readiness for multilateral effective cooperation.
Notably both countries being former soviet state shared deep bilateral relation with each other. As per strategic experts for Armenia Georgia has greater importance. It is worth to note that both after imposition of road block by Turkey and Azerbaijan Georgia become necessity for Armenia have connection with Georgia.
Although Armenia is depended on Georgia as well Russia for its various needs but Georgia and Armenia being former state of USSR have many shared relations. The visit of Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili reflected significant of these close relation between both countries. It is also to be noted that due to close Geographical locations many challenges being faced by both the countries are also common.
Some of the challenges that can be tackled with joint efforts are climate change, global warning, issue of reduction in agriculture produces. The sustainable development has great importantane for region so both countries have can take joint initiative in this direction as well.
