Georgia: In Kojori, the Ministry of Defense and Education, Science, and Youth attended the “Army Camp” closing event at the Sergeant Academy named after Giorgi Antsukhelidze.
Deputy Minister of Defense Grigol Giorgadze and Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth Nodar Papukashvili addressed the students. They focused on the role of youth in the country’s development, the importance of education, and the uplifting of patriotic spirit.
Students received summer camp participation certificates and gift sets. The event was attended by the Deputy Commander of the Defense Forces of Georgia, Major General Zaza Chkhaidze, and representatives of the Defense Forces.
This year, the ‘Army Camp’ was hosted by the Defense Agency at three locations – in Kojori – Sergeants Academy, Sachkhere – mining training school named after Colonel Besik Kutateladze and Akhalkalaki – in the military training center named after Senior Sergeant Zaza Feradze. Over eight rotations, more than 2200 students of 10th and 11th grades participated. These students, with the help of sergeants, underwent both theoretical and practical training in basic military disciplines, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary for their future roles.
They also had the opportunity to have an educational meeting with military historians and clergymen. Historical presentations were also held for participants of the “Army Camp,” organized by the Patriarchate.
The implementation of the project ‘Army Camp‘ started in 2023 with the initiative of the Department of Strategic Communications and Public Relations of the Ministry of Defense. This initiative was a result of the strong collaboration between the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth and the Ministry of Defense, with the invaluable support of the Patriarchate of Georgia. This unity and shared vision have been instrumental in the success of the ‘Army Camp ‘.
