Georgia: The First Deputy Minister of Defense, Paata Patiashvili, and Commander of Defense Forces, Lieutenant General Giorgi Matiashvili, attended the presentation of the 2025 report of the activities of “Wounded Warriors Support Fund”.
As Paata Patiashvili noted on Ghonisidze, taking care of wounded and injured military personnel is the duty and responsibility of the state.
“With the joint efforts of the Ministry and the Foundation, 1.5 million GEL was mobilized in the years 2024-2025. During the same period, the ministry allocated 12 million GEL from the budget, which was used to address the various needs of wounded warriors. Your heroism and your dedication are the solid foundation on which the statehood of Georgia stands today.
“To take care of wounded-injured military personnel is the duty and responsibility of the state and every citizen,“ said Paata Patiashvili.
Irakli Ujmajuridze, the head of the Department of Social Affairs and Psychological Support of the Ministry of Defense, introduced to the public the measures implemented by the Ministry of Defense for the care of wounded and injured military personnel.
The guests of the event were addressed by the Chairman of the “Silknet” Supervisory Board, Giorgi Ramishvili, the General Director of the Foundation, David Mamulaishvili, and the Director of the State Service of Veterans Affairs, Major General Koba Kobaladze.
The event was attended by deputies of the Defense Minister, wounded military personnel, veterans, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Georgia, and representatives of business and society.
“Wounded Warriors Support Fund” has been functioning under the patronage of the “Silknet” company since 2018. Its main goal is to care for wounded military personnel and veterans in various combat or international missions.
Along with the Defense Forces, the Foundation provides Wounded Warriors with medical services, research, reproduction, various medical disciplines, higher education, and vocational training courses with funding.
A Memorandum of Understanding between the Foundation and SABADO Leadership Academy was signed at the event, stating that educational events held in Sabado will be available to underage children of beneficiaries of the “Wounded Warriors Support Fund.
