Batumi, Georgia: The director of the patrol police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Vazha Siradze visited the wounded patrol-inspectors in Batumi on January 22, 2025. Vazha Siradze received the information regarding the health condition of patrol inspectors directly from the doctors.
Along with the director of the patrol police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the director of the Ajara police department Grigol Beselia, and the head of the Adjara police department Giorgi Khurcia also visited the wounded patrol inspectors in Batumi.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia also shared glimpses of the visit on its official Facebook page on January 22, 2025. The Ministry also shared a small note about the director’s visit, along with the photographs.
According to the information shared by the ministry, the director of the patrol police department wished the patrol inspectors a speedy recovery. The patients shared very emotional moments with the visitors who visited them and asked about their health.
On January 20th of this year, in Batumi, the patrol inspectors of the main authority of Adjara, who arrived on Komakhidze Street, attacked a citizen with a mental disorder with a knife.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs investigated this and found that it was determined that on January 20, at night, a message was entered in the Public Safety Management Center 112 Street, about a person with mental problems.
Based on the reports, three patrol inspectors of the main authority of the Patrol Police Department of Adjara were announced on the spot. The accused suddenly attacked and injured three police inspectors: Rezo Kartchia, Ramaz Beridze, and Avtandil Dolidze in different parts of the body using a knife.
The law enforcers arrested the accused on January 21. He was charged under the third part of Prima Article 19-353 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (attempting to kill a policeman’s life in connection with the duty of duty), which provides for imprisonment from 16 to 20 years.
