Georgia: Dmanisi Theater is working to give its performance in Levili’s native residence. The Dmanisi Theater completely renovated by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Georgia will open the series of event.
The theater’s artistic director, Giorgi Sikharulidze, this play, co-authored by scientist and archaeologist Jumper Kopaliani, is about the first Europeans, and this theme is symbolic of the Dmanisi Theater.
After this, Leville residential area will host Zugdidi’s Shalva Dadiani Theater and State Puppet Theater, and later, professional state drama theaters named after Zestafoni Ushangi Chkheidze and Senaki Akaki Khorava will perform a joint performance here.
It should be noted that in 2022-2023, a rehabilitation project for Dmanisi Theater was prepared, for which the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia allocated 188,000 GEL.
The Ministry of Culture allocated 4 900 000 GEL for the implementation of the project, during which the hall, the spaces used by the theater, and the actors’ residence were completely rehabilitated. Also, 125 square meters were built separately in the theater yard, rehearsal and administrative building, and the actors’ meter area.
Once the works are completed, the theatre will be international-class, equipped with modern-standard lighting and sound equipment, and will have a hall with up to 200 seats.
In 1990, the establishment of the theater studio “Kvemo Kartli” in Dmanisi was related to Zinaida Kverenchkhiladze, along with other peers.
Dmanisi Professional State Dramatic Theater is named after Zinaida Kverenchkhiladze. It has been given new life with the support of the Ministry of Culture since 2022.
The theater’s annual budget, before 2625,000EL, increased to 408 462, . Theinistry’s budget growth continued in the following years. In 2023, it increased to 545 000 GEL, and in 2024, it increased to 575 000 GEL.
Under the leadership of the theater’s new artistic director, Giorgi Sikharulidze, the theater was allocated funding for production costs. After the rehabilitation works are completed, cultural and creative processes in the region will be strengthened.
