Tbilisi: The Dusheti municipality administration have launched a new program namely “personal assistance”. The program has been recently introduced in working meeting held at city hall.
As per the information shared on official Facebook page of municipality, “Dusheti Municipality City Hall launches the implementation of a new social program service – “Personal Assistant”. The project aims to introduce/implement a new social service in Dusheti Municipality for welfare intiatiatives.”
It further stated, “Regarding the above newly introduced program, the Dusheti Municipality Mayor Matsatso Narimanidze held a working meeting with Irina Inasaridze, Director of the Association “Anika”.
It is also worth noting that the association “Anika” is a non-governmental organization of persons with disabilities founded in 1997 by parents of children with disabilities. Its goal is to protect the rights of persons with disabilities and promote equal opportunities for them.
The personal assistant service involves providing a person with disabilities with the necessary amount of assistance in performing their daily activities, which increases the ability of a person with disabilities to live independently and control their own life, manage and stabilize difficult behaviour.
It is also to be added that the parties shared recommendations with each other and agreed on active cooperation. The working meeting was also attended by Tamila Nadirashvili, Head of the Health and Social Service of the Dusheti Municipality City Hall.
For additional information, interested persons can contact the Health and Social Services Department of the Dusheti Municipality Hall. This move is being hailed as a good gesture towards the city hall for this welfare measures.
The authorities on the other underlined that such kind of social welfare program will continue in future also. They further added that if need arises more financial assistance will be provided so that these people with disability can live a healthy lifestyle.
The people who fall in this category eligible for social assistance said that we are very thankful towards authority who are taking care of our rights. On the other hand, social media user also appreciated the move of City hall administration in this direction as well.
