Dusheti Municipality hosts meeting to discuss Personal Assistant’s Service

Georgia: The Intermunicipal platforms formed by the initiative and organization of the National Association of Local Self-Governments of Georgia continue to function intensively.

This pivotal second meeting, held in the esteemed Dusheti Municipality Hall for Mtskheta-Mtianeti Self-Governing Units, was a comprehensive discussion about the Personal Assistant’s Service, a topic of utmost importance.

The meeting was inaugurated by the esteemed ATEA Vice President and Dusheti Municipality Mayor, Matsatsatso Narimanidze, in collaboration with the ATEA Executive Director, Nino Rukhadze, who provided invaluable leadership and guidance.

According to the stakeholders, the need for the transfer of delegated social sphere powers to municipalities, this platform encourages self-governing units to share knowledge, information, and practices of the ongoing programs, which will later focus on developing unified mechanisms and delivering effective services to the population.

The attending community, a vital part of our discussions, was also addressed with a warm welcome speech.

Nikoloz Rosebashvili, Head of the Department of Relations with Regions and Local Self-Government Authorities of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Head of the Social Protection, Refugees and Labor Policy Department of the Ministry of Refugees, Labor, Health and Social Protection from the Occupied Territories of Georgia, Tamar Kurtanidze, expert on local self-government Aleksandre Svanishvili and UNICEF representative Nino Davitashvili on the issues of cycling.

In the first part of the meeting, ATEA expert Nino Zurabishvili introduced the legislative basis of delegating personal assistant service to the public. Tamar Kurtanidze reviewed this service in detail and talked about existing practices.

After the presentations, the meeting was held in a discussion format, in which the participants discussed the challenges of delegating the Personal Assistant Service.

Employees of social services and departments of the municipalities of the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region were involved in the event, which was organized at the Dusheti Municipality Hall; Lasha Archvadze, Deputy Executive Director of ATEA, also participated in the meeting.
