The British’s low-budget airline “EasyJet” announced plans to launch new flights to Georgia’s capital, Tbilisi. The company will launch new flights from Geneva, London and Milan to Tbilisi in 2025.
The new EasyJet flights will start in the spring season next year. Georgia’s Ministry of Economy shared information on this significant development today. These will be all new flights from three cities to the Georgian capital, Tbilisi and are expected to serve a large number of air travellers from all mentioned cities.
In the initial phase there will be two flights in a week and number of flights may be increased later depending on the response of air passengers. As per the information shared by Ministry, On March 31 the airline’s first flight will take place from Geneva to Tbilisi.
On the other hand direct flights from London and Milan will begin most probably on 1 April 2025. Irakli Karkashadze the current Director of the United Airports of Georgia while speaking about the new connectivity of Tbilisi airport with London, Geneva and Milan, added “ The new entry of another Europan Airlines in Georgia air space reflected the recognition of Georgia’s air market by international players.”
In addition he stated further that “This enhanced connectivity of capital Tbilisi will make the country’s tourism more famous. This will enhance the tourist inflow in the country which will directly impact the economy of the country as well.”
According to the director there were many challenges during the phase of negotiations with EasyJet for direct Flights to Tbilisi. However we made our best efforts which brought fruit. This is a very exciting moment as we have achieved another milestone in the direction of Georgia’s air connectivity expansion.
He expressed hopes that the new link between Georgia’s capital and three major European countries will provide a big boost to the country’s tourism industry. Notbaly EasyJet Airline came into operation almost 30 years ago in 1995. The airline provides services to nearly 1000 destinations in 35 countries.
