The program is a part of the Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Program (SVEP), a sub-component of the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) of the Ministry of Rural Development.

The Mayor noted that the money allocated from the Project Fund under the Village Support Program will be spent on the priorities chosen by the population through a participatory and democratic process.

He said the program will provide financial assistance, training, mentoring, and business development support to rural entrepreneurs who want to set up or expand their enterprises in various sectors, such as agriculture, handicrafts, tourism, and services.

To select the projects, the municipality will hold general meetings of the settlements from January 16, where the residents can express their needs and preferences and vote for the best proposals. The Mayor urged the people to actively participate in the meetings and take advantage of the program.
