This comprehensive assessment has underscored the critical importance of proactive conservation efforts to safeguard the nation’s forested landscapes.

In addition to legislative reforms, Tandilashvili emphasized the importance of monitoring illegal logging. Strengthening regulatory oversight and enhancing coordination among relevant agencies will be essential to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations. By adopting a multi-faceted approach, Georgia aims to tackle the root causes of illegal logging and promote sustainable forest management practices.

The Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture is actively engaged in implementing strategies to tighten control over forest resources and mitigate the threats posed by illegal logging. Through collaborative efforts with stakeholders, including local communities and conservation organizations, the government seeks to foster a culture of environmental stewardship and responsibility.
