GNFC announces competition for funding full-length feature films

 Georgia: The Georgian National Film Center (GNFC) announces competition for financing Georgian-foreign joint production (co-production) of full-length feature films.

Georgian National Center of Cinematography announces competition – “Funding of Georgian-foreign joint production (co-production) of feature films”. The National Cinema Center has allocated 1 200 000 GEL for the competition.

The purpose of the competition is to financially promote the authors of unfinished films and support the creation of cinematic works through financial assistance in both the filming and post-production stages.

The objective of the competition: Promotion of cultural cooperation between Georgian and foreign filmmakers; Promotion of exchange of resources, experience and creative ideas; Strengthening cultural connections and promoting international partnerships; Promotion of Georgian cinema abroad.

An application for competition at the National Center of Cinematography of Georgia must be submitted by a producer who is a legal entity created/founded according to Georgian law or an entrepreneurial individual who has experience in film production, audiovisual field and/or management.

According to the competition data, the contestant should not have an unfulfilled important obligation to the National Cinema Center and should not be registered in the duty register.

Applications will be accepted for funding the completion of a film, most of which has been shot, regardless of whether the National Cinema Center financed the project in the past. The contestant can only submit one film project. Only a full-length feature film project will be accepted for the competition, whose timing exceeds 52 minutes.

The National Cinema Center will finance a maximum of four projects with the budget determined by the competitive conditions.

Competition projects will be received electronically from April 2 to April 16, 2024 through the official email of the National Cinema Center – documents@gnfc.ge .

A participant shall be informed about the results of the competition officially, electronically or in writing within three business days of the final decision on the competition application.
