Culture Ministry donates traditional stage clothes to ensembles

Georgia: The Georgian Ministry of Culture and Sports, handed over traditional stage clothes to two ensembles this time – A(a)IP “Tutarchela – 2024” and A(a) IP “Me Rustveli.”

Ensemble “Me Rustveli”, was given ten sets of Chokha-Akhalukhi and ensemble “Tutarchela” 15 stage dresses, for which the Ministry of Culture allocated 17 510 GEL. The tender-selected company “Pafanak” sewn the new stage clothes.

City attended the show of stage clothes—Deputy Mayor of Rustavi Otar Tatalashvili.

The women’s folklore ensemble “Tutarchela” was formed in 2004. The head of the ensemble is Tamar Buadze. Since 2007, the ensemble has been successfully participating in festivals and solo concerts in Georgia as well as Europe, particularly in Switzerland (Zurich, Basel, Lucerne, Winterthur, Bern), Germany (Berlin, Dresden, Cologne, Frankfurt, Lunenburg, Rudolstadt, Hamburg, Jena, Leipzig, Nuremberg), Austria (Vienna, Linz).

In 2012, the Ministry of Culture of Georgia and the National Folklore Center of Georgia awarded the Folklore Ensemble Certificate to the Women’s Ensemble “Tutarchhela.” The ensemble has received awards in the following nominations: Best Ensemble, Best Georgian Song Performance, Best Arrangement, and Best Conductor.

The ensemble has held solo concerts in Germany, the United States, Armenia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Latvia, and Lithuania. It was awarded the Folklore Ensemble Certificate in 2012, has received numerous medals and awards, and has the status of Rustavi Sioni Church choir. The ensemble recorded three compact discs with Georgian church hymns and songs from different parts of Georgia.

FYI: The need for proper quality, custom sketches of traditional stage clothing is one of the actual challenges facing state and private folk ensembles.

The state last purchased new clothes for their ensembles about 15 years ago. That is why the Ministry of Culture allocated 197 999 GEL in December 2021 and announced the first tender.

The Ministry has started to fulfill the conditions of the 2023 contract from 2024.

This year, stage clothes have already been handed over: the State Academic Dass of Iliko Sukhishvili and Nino Ramishvili, the Quintet “Urmuli” (physical person Nugzar Kavtaradze), the Georgian and World Folk Dance Choreographic Ensemble “Rokva,” and the State Academic Ensemble of Folk Song and Dance of Georgia Blue to the “Erision.”

It is planned to transfer clothes for the following ensembles: A(a)IP Royal National Ballet Das, Abkhazia State Song, and Dance Ensemble, A(a)ip Folk Song and Dance Ensemble “Nartebi,” A(a)IIP Kutaisi City Folklore Center Song and Dance State Academic Ensemble.

The Ministry of Culture selected these ensembles in cooperation with the Anzor Erkomaishvili State Folklore Center.
