Tornike Rizhvadze says about foreign influence transparency law adoption

Georgia: The Chairman of the Adjara Government, Tornike Rizhvadze, commented on the defeat of the veto by the Georgian Parliament and the adoption of the law on foreign influence transparency at the meeting of the government.

The head of the Adjara government noted that the transparency law will soon give us results that will further establish our statehood, our sovereignty and independence, which is a prerequisite for full membership of the European family.

“I would like to thank every Member of the Majority, who, despite unprecedented pressure, have managed to make a firm decision, which is important for our country’s long-term sovereignty and independence,” said Tornike Rizhvadze.

He also noted, “The people have an absolute right to know about the transparency of any organization pursuing a foreign interest, positive or negative. It is impossible that transparency is incompatible with European values and values. As you can report, the Head of the Government of Georgia, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, at the first government meeting, named transparency and accountability of the government as one of the main principles. Therefore, transparency will be the main demand and expectation for governmental, non-governmental, and private structures.”

“Over the last 12 years, Georgia has become stronger and more independent, and therefore, with the efforts of our party founder, Mr. Bidzina Ivanishvili, it is unimaginable at risk, in terms of the “Georgian Dream,” no one will be able to “appoint” our people and “elect” the government from outside and be able to interfere in our domestic affairs,” – stated Tornike Rizhvadze.

The Prime Minister reviewed the issues on the agenda. It was noted that there is a positive dynamic in tourism, and foreign visitors increased by 10%. Seawater monitoring has been carried out, and according to the study, seawater studies on the Adjara coastline have shown that it meets all the established norms.

The maritime tourist season will officially open in Batumi on June 9, 2024. Tornike Rizhvadze called on municipalities and institutions to coordinate so that Batumi and Adjara can meet the upcoming maritime season with dignity.

Batumi Boulevard meets summer tourist season with news. The construction of a skate and roller park on the new Boulevard and a bike path rehabilitation project are nearing completion.

The budget and funding share of almost all the programs of the Adjara Ministry of Health and the funding methodology, both in health and social aspects, are increasing.

The budget for infertility diagnosis and treatment programs will be doubled. Co-financing of additional medical service programs for patients with cancer patients and treatment abroad will increase.

It is planned to increase one-time assistance for citizens over 100 years old and funding for families of newborn twins. Financial assistance of 120.000 to 150,000 points will be implemented for children under 16 years old in socially vulnerable families.

More than 400 applicants will receive scholarships this year within the framework of the Adjara Ministry of Education. Also, the circle of beneficiaries in the tuition fee program for socially vulnerable students is increasing, and instead of 100,000 points, it will be determined by 150,000 points.

The implementation of rural entrepreneurship and farmers’ promotion programs continues in the region. More than 3000 farmers will receive agricultural machinery and related equipment.
