SEU to host a series of lectures on finance in partnership with Bucharest Uni. Romania

The Georgian National University (SEU) is all set to host a series of lectures on different finance topics. The professor from the SEU’s partner Bucharest University of Economics study from  Romania will deliver the guest lecture between May 24 to 29, 2024.

The Georgian National University (SEU) is all set to host a series of lectures on different finance topics. The professor Gyorgy Atilla from the SEU’s partner Bucharest University of Economics study from  Romania will deliver the guest lecture between May 24 to 29, 2024.

Professor Gyorgy Atilla is visiting the Georgia National  University  under the provision of a Memorandum of Understanding. Gyorgy Atilla has been a professor of public finance at The Bucharest University of Economic Studies since 2002 and has held the position of secretary of state in the Romanian Ministry of Finance since 2014.

 

Professor Gyorgy Atilla is an expert in budget formulation, managing public financial resources, state expenditures, and public debt management.  On the first day of May 24, 2024  the first lecture will be held at 7 PM. The students of master programs can attend it and listen to  the view of Gyorgy Atilla on  Maastricht criteria, EU currency, T-bonds, State Treasury, and the payment/clearing system

Another lecture will be held again on May 27, 2024, at 2 PM, where the topics of exchange of teaching experience, possible research, and project collaboration will be discussed.

Similalry  lecture on the financial provocations for CEE corporations will be given on May 28 at 7 PM. This lecture will cover the impact of taxes on corporate activity, limits of tax facilities, state aid rules, loan facilities, investment opportunities, etc.

On the last day  the BBA students of SEU will attend a dedicated lecture session on deficit constraints, national budget vs. EU budget, taxation, and EIB membership.

It is worth noting that all the lectures will be delivered in English. Moreover, students will be allowed to ask questions on relevant topics as well. The main focus of the lectures is to discuss Georgia’s economic structure  as it was granted the status of a candidate country last December. Students can visit the official page of the SEU university to fill the form for participation.
