Education Ministry presents various programs in Telavi

Georgia's Independence Day was on May 26. This year, the main message of this day is "Everything that we love, is proud of, and unites us." This emphasizes once again the importance of Independence Day for Georgian citizens because Georgia's rich history, culture, character, and dignity form the solid foundation of unity, development, and progress.

Telavi, Georgia: Georgia’s Independence Day was on May 26. This year, the main message of this day is “Everything that we love, is proud of, and unites us.” This emphasizes once again the importance of Independence Day for Georgian citizens because Georgia’s rich history, culture, character, and dignity form the solid foundation of unity, development, and progress.

To celebrate Independence Day, the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia presented various educational-scientific programs on the central square in Telavi.

The First Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Alexander Tsuladze, and deputies – Nodar Papukashvili and Gela Geladze participated in the event dedicated to Independence Day, they inspected the installations on the Central Square of Telavi and congratulated the participants of the Independence Day.

Guests who came to the central square of Telavi were met on the spot, along with the information spaces:

  •  Exhibition-sale of local entrepreneurs’ products
  •  Exhibition of military equipment
  •  Exhibition space – “What we are proud of and unites us”
  •  Food and sweets space
  •  Giant doll of Petre Otskheli’s “flying”
  •  Animators and fairy tale heroes
  •  Marching orchestra marching

Observers could also participate in cognitive-entertaining activities and competitions. The event was held in the scientific zone, which features thematic installations and exhibitions of professional and higher education institutions.

On Independence Day, professional colleges throughout Georgia—”Ikaros,” “Mermis,” “Prestige,” and “Aisi”—presented student works and held presentations of programs and masterclasses. Anyone who wants to have the opportunity to try their hand in professions such as cook, meaning, teak master, and others.

Independence Day is an annual public holiday in Georgia observed on May 26. It commemorates the adoption of the Act of Independence on May 26, 1918, which established the Democratic Republic of Georgia in the aftermath of the Russian Revolution of 1917. It is Georgia’s national day.
