Tbilisi State University: Photo exhibition “Javakheti” held

Tbilisi: A photo exhibition titled “Javakheti” was held at Tbilisi State University under the framework of  “Javakheti Student Expedition 2023.” This dedicated student expedition is being  organized with the support of Tbilisi State University for the past twenty-four-four years. More than 2,500 students have participated in the project since 2001.

On this occasion  the deputy rector of Tbilisi State University, Erekle Astakhishvili, met the participants of the student expedition.  He also addressed them and stated that “the expedition is not only educational in nature  but students get chance to hold  communication with local residents, representatives of ethnic minorities, contributes to their socialization, which is very important not only for the university but for the whole of Georgia, as they came to know about the issue concerned with the Georgian society.”

According to the information the expedition was financed within the framework of Tbilisi State University student projects. The main goal of the expedition is to provide students with the opportunity to highlight the various aspects of Georgia. At the same time  student’s integration with the Armenian-speaking, Greek-speaking, and Georgian populations also provides them with better exposure.

At the same time  the project administration is planning and implementing various cognitive-educational activities together with local youth organizations to upgrade their existing skills.  They also used to plan visits to cultural-heritage monuments in Akhalkalaki, Akhaltsikhe, Aspindze, and Ninotsminda municipalities’s student community.

A large number of visitors arrived to see great artistic work. The attendees  attended a lecture that provided detailed information about the various projects that have been completed and those that are in the pipeline.  The people who visited there appreciated the artwork. The paintings reflected the diverse aspects of Georgian life. Some depicted the rural life of Georgia  whereas others displayed the natural beauty of Georgia.

It is also worth mentioning that the Tbilisi State University used to hold seminars and workshops for the students. The students of the University said that they are very happy as the University holds many events that enhance their knowledge.
