The new fire trucks are equipped with all the latest features for immediate response to incidents. They are very powerful and accident resistant. The Emergency Management Service of Georgia has shared this information on its social media pages.
The official Facebook page stated “The Emergency Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has purchased 31 new fire trucks of modern European standards of company “Iveko Magirusi. All the new trucks will be deployed in duty step by step.”
The head of the Emergency Management Service Temur Mghebrishvili was personally visited at the plant of the company Magirusi and learned about all the features of the new fire truck.
It is to be added that the fire engines, which are specially designed for Georgia will be distributed in all the major regions throughout the country. The new high-performance fire trucks are designed to fight wildfires and have all the necessary modern features.
Currently the Emergency Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is continuously renovating the fire-rescue carpark. To improve the quality of emergency response, a number of projects to upgrade equipment and special techniques are planned.
The head of the agency after the visit to the factory stated that “the fire incidents, especially the wildfires are serious concerns for us. The service is working actively to upgrade its capabilities.”
Many times wildfires become dangerous and out of control. The Ministry of Internal Affairs engages agencies to curb wildfires, which also includes the services of helicopters. The helicopter also plays a significant role in controlling wildfires in areas where it is impossible for normal fire vehicles to reach as their tires often burst due to the high heat caused by fires.
The agency’s official expressed hopes that this new purchase will be a big boost for the agency. According to them these vehicles will help provide timely assistance in case of emergency.
