Copenhagen: A concert by the ensemble “Bassiani” was held in the Marble Cathedral during Georgian Culture Days even at Copenhagen, Denmark. The event is being held with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth of Georgia.

The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports of Georgia Koba Khubunaia, Ambassador of Emergency and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Kingdom of Denmark and Iceland Nata Menabde, representatives of the Embassy of Georgia in the Kingdom of Denmark, representatives of the Georgian Diaspora and European guests.

In the evening, the ensemble performed traditional Georgian folk songs and hymns, which earned great appreciation from European listeners.

Ensemble “Basiani” will hold a lecture-masterclass of Georgian folk songs at St. Anne’s school in Copenhagen on September 26.

The Days of Georgian Culture in Copenhagen will continue from September 24 to October 3 with diverse cultural events. The program of events will include the presentation of Georgian traditional song and dance, visual and theater performing arts, and film and arts.

On the first day, the Georgian folk song ensemble “Basiani” and the Kutaisi State Academic Song and Dance Ensemble concert, Giorgi Sisauri’s calligraphy art masterclass, were held in Det-Ni Theater.

Days of Georgian Culture will help deepen the cultural relationship between the two countries, introducing Georgian culture and traditions to European people and Georgians living there.

Reminder: From May 4 to August 20, 2023, the Louisiana Museum of Contemporary Art hosted an exhibition of works by Niko Firosmanashvili, promoted by the Georgian Ministry of Culture and in cooperation with the Louisiana Museum in Denmark.

The interested society saw 48 works of Pirosmani. This was the first and historic occasion when Pyrosman’s work was presented on such a large scale in one of Europe’s most prestigious museums. Louisiana Museum Director Paul Eric Toyner said that the fireman’s exhibit saw 260,000 visitors, and the number of visitors exceeded everyone’s expectations.
