Rustavi shines with New Year’s illuminations

The city of Rustavi, the fourth-largest city in Georgia, has been decorated with festive lights and ornaments for the New Year.

Rustavi, Georgia: The city of Rustavi, the fourth-largest city in Georgia, has been decorated with festive lights and ornaments for the New Year. 

The illuminations were given as a gift by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, who decided to provide 63 municipalities of the country with New Year’s decorations.

The Christmas town, the central and inner streets, the public spaces and the courtyards of Rustavi have been lit up with colourful and sparkling lights, creating a cheerful and cosy atmosphere for the residents and visitors. The city also has a giant Christmas tree, which will be ceremonially lit on December 25, 2023, along with a concert and fireworks.

The New Year’s illuminations are part of the government’s initiative to support the local municipalities and boost the festive mood in the country amid the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the regional tensions. 

The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, said that the illuminations are a symbol of hope and solidarity and a way to celebrate the achievements and resilience of the Georgian people.

Rustavi is a city in the southeast of Georgia. The city of Rustavi is known for its industrial and cultural heritage, as well as its proximity to the capital city of Tbilisi. It has a population of about 125,000 people and is located in the Kvemo Kartli region of Georgia. 

The city has been undergoing a process of urban renewal and development with the support of the central and local governments and various international organizations.

The New Year’s illuminations in Rustavi are expected to attract more tourists and visitors to the city and showcase its beauty and potential. The city authorities have also prepared various events and activities for the New Year and Christmas holidays, such as concerts, exhibitions, fairs, and sports competitions.
