Georgian Government to host new year in Sachkhere

Sachkhere, Georgia: Sachkhere, a town in the western region of Imereti, is gearing up for a grand New Year celebration on January 2, 2024. The event, organized by the administration of the Government of Georgia, will feature various activities and entertainment for all ages.

The event venue is near the railway station, where a festive atmosphere will welcome the visitors. From 14:00 to 17:00, Santa, elves and costume heroes will march along the streets, spreading joy and cheer. From 14:00 to 19:00, a Christmas market will offer local products, handmade goods, mulled wine, crepe, hot chocolate, and hot dogs. 

Children can enjoy painting Christmas cookies, colouring Christmas tree toys, pockets, greeting cards, ginger toys, and card making from 14:00 to 18:00. There will also be face painting for children from 14:00 to 18:00.

The musical installation “Lapland” will create a magical ambience from 14:00 to 19:00. At the same time, DJ Roy Fitz will spin some tunes from 14:15 to 18:00. The highlight of the evening will be the live performance of the band “Newton”, quartet “Forte”, and singers Temur Tatarashvili, Tamuna Amonashvili, Marita Rokhvadze, Tika Makhaldiani, Veriko Turashvili, and Salome Bakuradze from 18:00 to 20:00. The presenters of the event are Otar Laskhishvili, Ia Ninidze and Zurab Manjavidze.

The event will culminate with a spectacular fireworks display at 20:00, marking the start of a new year and a new hope. The organizers invite everyone to join the celebration and have a memorable time in Sachkhere.

Sachkhere City

Sachkhere is a town at the northern edge of the Imereti Province in Western Georgia. It is the centre of the Sachkhere Municipality. Farming is a significant contributor to the economy of Sachkhere.

From the north, the municipality of Sachkhere is boarded by Oni and Ambrolauri Municipality; from the east – java and Kareli; from the south – Khashuri and Kharagauli; and from the west by Chiatura Municipality.
