Germany organizes large-scale presentation of Georgian wine

Georgia: 28 Georgian wine-producing companies participated in the exhibition “ProWein Dusseldorf” of one of the largest wine and alcoholic beverages in the world, with the financial support of the National Wine Agency and organizational support of the Association “Georgian Wine”, in Dusseldorf, Germany.

At the exhibition, for three days, the opportunity to evaluate Georgian wine was given to wine professionals, representatives of the commercial sector, and tens of thousands of guests of the exhibition, which gives special importance to the diversification of export markets and increase of sales.

Within the framework of the exhibition, organized by the National Wine Agency, four professional presentation-tastings of Georgian wine were held: tasting at the prestigious German Media Holding’s stand “Georgia – Motherland of Wine” wine masters Janek Schumann (Janek Schumann) and Konstantin Baum, and three events named “Georgian Wine Day”, famous influencer and sommelier T Tony Askitis was guided.

The Dusseldorf exhibition is important not only for Germany but also for the global wine market. Professionals are here, companies are constantly meeting potential partners. Georgia participated in “ProWein Dusseldorf” for the 24th time. One of the main goals of the National Wine Agency is to diversify markets. “As for Germany, it is one of the strategic markets of Georgian wine, where sales of Georgian wine are steadily growing”, – said Levan Mekhuzla, Chairman of the National Wine Agency.

Within the framework of the exhibition, Levan Mekhuzla held meetings with representatives of various marketing companies and media holding, as well as Peter Schmitz, director of the exhibition “Prowein”.

The exhibition was attended by the Consulate General of Georgia in the Federal Republic of Germany.

5400 winemakers from 65 countries participated in the 30th anniversary of “ProWein Dusseldorf”, this year.

The National Wine Agency of Georgia is a legal entity of public law under the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia that was founded in 2014 by the law on “Vine and Wine“. The Agency operates in constant contact with the Ministry of Agriculture and relevant state and private companies in the field of winemaking.
