Dusheti: presentation of Album of Lasharela ensemble held

The Pshavi folk ensemble Lasharela recently presented a performance in the village of Chargal.  The large number of the folk artist attend the event.

On this occasion, many musical and cultural activities were held. The event was   attended by Gocha Kavtaradze, the deputy state representative of Mtskheta-Mtianeti  and the Mayor of Dusheti municipality, Matsatso Narimanidze.

It is to be specifically mentioned that the history of creating a folk ensemble in Pshavi began in the 1940s. After the Second World War  a team of twenty men and women gathered in the center of Pshavi in the House of Culture of Magharoskar. Nino Kistauri and Alexi Khutsurauli led the team to discuss the formation of the Pshavi music ensemble.

Luka Nakeuri  who is the grandfather of current leader  Nino Nakeuri  remained a member of the ensemble for a long time. It is worth adding that the Valiko Tsotskolauri gathered the descendants of the old team and  in 1983  founded the new group  namely the folk group “Lashari”.

Most of its members were   descendants of the old ensemble of Pshavi and members of the “Lashar” ensemble as well.  The oldest member of the ensemble is 87 years  whereas the  youngest is 15 years old. Moreover, the “Lasharela” is currently the only ensemble that has preserved the Pshaai singing tradition, manner, and manner of performance.

At the same time, along with the residents and invited guests, the head of the Cultural and Educational Center of   Jemal Damatsalashvili and the chairman of the Social and Cultural Affairs Commission of the Sakrebulo Giorgi Aslamazishvili were also present at the event.

The cultural ministry of Georgia has organized many events commemorating its traditional cultural values. In the past, the Ministry has also taken the initiative in this direction and organized many cultural and musical events at different places.   Preserving old cultural values and heritage is the need of the hour. This is the best way to make the new generation aware of a country’s rich cultural values.
