Georgia: The Deputy Ministers of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia Baia Kvitsiani and Tamar Ghvamichava held a working meeting with European partners of the Erasmus+ project. The working meeting was held on June 9, 2025, Monday.
It is worth noting that the Erasmus+ project provides various different opportunities for Georgian institutions so that they can participate in various educational projects, as partners, applicants, or coordinators.
The Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia shared glimpses of the meeting on its Official Facebook page. The Ministry also shared some details of the working meeting along with its glimpses.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the activities implemented and planned within the framework of the EU-funded Erasmus+ CBHE grant project – “Microcredits for Higher Education Systems of Georgia and Armenia: Lighthouse of the South Caucasus” (Micro-GEAR).
During their speech, the deputy ministers emphasized the importance of such projects and noted that Micro-GEAR in the South Caucasus region supports structural reforms in the higher education sector and is a powerful tool for improving the quality of higher education systems.
The project aims to update the frameworks of national qualifications of Georgia and Armenia and to reach a consensus on the principles of microcredit at the national level. In addition, the Erasmus+ CBHE grant project strengthens educational activities through microcredits and promotes their recognition.
The partners of the project funded by Erasmus+ are the ministries of Georgia and Armenia, national accreditation agencies, and higher education institutions.
Furthermore, it should be noted that the project consortium from the EU includes higher educational institutions in Italy, Spain, and Germany, the Italian ENIC-NARIC center, and the quality assurance expert company.
