Europe: Roberta Metsola, the President of the European Parliament, on Wednesday, publicized that the Twitter account of the European Parliament faced a sophisticated cyberattack. The responsibility for this malicious cyber crime was taken by a pro-Kremlin group.

Russia has been considered as the State-sponsor of terrorism. Such acts of cyberterrorism aren’t something that hasn’t been done before by Russia.

However, President Metsola stated that the IT experts have been informed about the same and have been indulged into retrieval of the official account of the European Parliament.

The President, in response to the act , wrote #SlavaUkraini on her account, wishing victory to the Ukrainian warriors who have been fighting long against the Russian aggression against Ukraine. Europe, since the beginning of the war, has supported Ukraine in standing firm against Russia.

On Wednesday, President Roberta Metsola announced the latest support campaign named as “Generators of Hope” for Ukraine. The program looks forward to providing the Ukrainians with energy, and clean water to consume as well as ensuring them the provision of day-to-day services.

Following the attacks on the energy facilities and civilian infrastructure by Russia, at least 10 million of Ukrainians have been forced to live without electricity and daily services. Under the campaign, the European Parliament has decided to donate power generators to help them survive through the freezing winters.

The medical facilities in Ukraine are also being restored to ensure smooth operations of the health care facilities in Ukraine. Metsola also urged the European countries to come together and provide Ukrainians with a hope of a better tomorrow after these darkest hours of war.

It has already been 11 months since Russia’s invasion, proclaimed as a full-scale military operation by the Kremlin, began on Ukraine. Since then, European countries have supported Ukraine, which would extend further with this campaign.
