Samtredia Municipality promotes healthy lifestyles in country

Several sports activities and championships are held in Samtredia municipality to promote a healthy lifestyle in the region. A mini-football field was set up on Manjgaladze, Freedom, Lasha Tevzadze, and Galaktioni streets.

Since last year, the community has played a crucial role in the implementation of numerous infrastructure projects for various sports. This collective effort has led to Samtredia being recognized as the best municipality in Imereti in terms of sports infrastructure.

At this stage, rehabilitation works, including the installation of new lighting and seating, are underway in Daba Kulashi, Didi Jikhaishi, Tsereteli Street – Ilori settlement. Additionally, new football and spare pitches have been set up at the central stadium.

A basketball court was recently established in the heart of our city, on Chavchavadze Street. The gym has also been renovated. These developments are not just about sports, they are about the future of our youth, fostering their success in various sports sections and promoting a healthier lifestyle.

Construction of a mini football stadium on Robakidze Street has already been completed, where an internal speaking tournament was organized on Olympism Day.

The winning teams were awarded prizes established by the City Hall and Olympic Committee.

Davit Bakhtadze said, “It is a priority for us to instill a healthy lifestyle among young people; to promote it, the proper infrastructure will continue to be actively arranged in the municipality.” ”
