The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia has indicted the former First Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, a state-political official of abuse of power and legalization of illegal income.
In an investigation conducted by the Anti-Corruption Agency of the State Security Service, it has been established that the former Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia held high positions in various agencies from 2017 to 2024 and systematically abused his power, accompanied by a particularly large amount of income.
In 2021, the former first deputy minister of economy and sustainable development abused his authority and authority against the public interest to gain distinction, helping one of the companies he founded sell his company to another company for $ 4 400 000, for which he received about $ 400 000 from the mentioned company.
The defendant has taken the following actions to give legal face to those properties obtained as a result of various corrupt activities.

The family of the accused did not give this property and the purpose of the contract was only to disguise the origin of the money transferred to Spain.
Also, the former first deputy of the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, obtained as a result of the above-mentioned corruption activities, especially to hide and disguise the source of origin for illegal and undocumented assets, has purchased two cars, MERCEDES BENZ G 63 AMG produced in 2023 and LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER produced in 2023 the value of which In total, it is 842 592 GEL. The mentioned cars were formally signed on by persons equipped with the trust of his and his wife.
At this stage of the investigation, it is stated that the accused using the mentioned methods, with the help of persons connected with him, illegal illegal and undocumented legalization of a large amount of income of 2 556 192 Gel.
Law enforcers arrested the former first deputy minister of economy and sustainable development on June 20. He was charged under Article 332 Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Georgia and under Article 3 “G” sub-clause of Article 194 Article 3, which provides for up to 12 years in prison as a punishment.
The Georgian Prosecutor’s Office addresses the deadline set by the court as a measure for the accused to be arrested and imprisoned through mediation. Investigation of the case continues in the State Security Service of Georgia.
